REYTA 2023 FINALIST - LET'S GET BLOGGING!

What's the excitement about? What's a REYTA?

REYTAs stands for 'Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards'. Now in it's 13th year, it recognises the quality and success of businesses and individuals in the Hull and East Yorkshire region. It now has 16 categories ranging from 'Remarkable Pub of the Year' to 'Remarkable Cuppa' and of course the 'Remarkable Camping and Glamping' award.

Why enter the REYTA's

Having a business development background and having toured full time in our beloved twin axle caravan for 2 years we wanted to use our knowledge and expertise in the leisure industry so decided to look for work on a caravan site. 


First stop was at a site in the North East of Scotland for 2 years which was wonderful. However, we needed to move a little further South to take on new opportunities and adventures so we moved to the beautiful East Coast of Yorkshire.


Luckily, we saw an advertisement  asking for Site Managers here at Thorpe Hall Caravan and Camping site in the rural location of Rudston and only a 10 minute drive from the coast...the best of both worlds. It was meant to be and at the start of 2022 we started our new roles.


Once we'd got our heads around the operating systems and different machinery it was all systems go to improve the efficiency of operations and enhance the customer experience. With lots of enthusiasm, a sprinkling of ideas, feedback from our guests and encouragement from the Estate owner it was time to enter the REYTAs.

So in 2023 the entry was submitted and we just had to wait to hear whether we'd made the finals or not. The day finally arrived, the email dropped into the inbox and it was time to find out! We'd made it to the FINALS! 


We were unable to personally make the finals as our caravan was hitched up and ready to go...winter in Spain was beckoning.


On our return we were disappointed to find out that Thorpe Hall Caravan and Camping Site hadn't won but none the less, we are so proud to have made it to the finals in 2023.


Well done to all the winners, thank you to all our customers and suppliers for their continued support and we'll try again...onwards and upwards.
