TOURING SITE FAQs (Not applicable to Glamping)

  • Is Thorpe Hall Caravan and Camping Site Dog Friendly?

    Yes we are and welcome two well behaved dogs to stay with each unit FREE of charge (max of 3 dogs). All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on site. We have a dog walk area and local walks direct from the site NB: We do not accept breeds/cross breeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs act namely Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino or Fila Brasileiro

  • What amperage is the electric hook up on the site?

    All pitches have access to 16 amps. However, we do suggest being careful with how many appliances you are running at the same time

  • I’ve a very large tent with awning, is this ok?

    The maximum tent size is 6m wide by 10m deep. Your entire set up must fit within your pitch (including guy ropes) and your vehicle/trailer must be parked beside your tent. If they won’t fit beside your tent they have to be parked off-site. 

  • Can we put up a gazebo/kitchen tent?

    Gazebos/kitchen/day/toilet tents are not allowed unless you wish to book and pay for an extra pitch and only then at the discretion of the Manager, please check before booking. 

  • What time is check in and departure?

    Arrival is from 1.00pm onwards with last arrivals at 8.00pm. If you think you might be later arriving please call in advance for advice. Departure is no later than 11.30am

  • Are the showers and toilets open through the night? Yes are toilets are open throughout, are heated and have hot water on demandon

  • Are there disabled facilities?

    We have one family/disabled room which has a shower, bath, twin sinks and toilet. There are grab rails and an emergency cord but we stipulate that children, the elderly and those with a disability should be accompanied 

  • Is there a clubhouse?

    We are a quiet and peaceful site set in the Countryside and whilst we do not have a clubhouse on site we are only a short walk from the village pub or a short drive from the coast and it’s variety of entertainments

  • Do we have to be quiet after a certain time?

    We ask that all guests respect their neighbours by not playing music or TV excessively loud throughout the day/evening or letting dogs bark continually. For the comfort and enjoyment of all our guests’ quiet time is strictly enforced between the hours of 11.00pm – 8.00am 

  • Is there a children’s’ play area?

    We have a large games field for ball games, kite flying, frisbee etc. In addition we have a small play area with a slide, swing and climbing frame NB: children must be supervised at all times

  • Can anyone use the fishing lake?

    Our fishing lake can be enjoyed by any of our guests who hold a relevant and up to date fishing licence. Details of charges, rules and regulations can be found at the office. Payment MUST be made prior to fishing.

  • Are BBQ’s or fire pits allowed?

    BBQ’s are allowed as long as they are not in contact with the grass or placed on garden furniture. There are bricks available should you wish to use a disposable BBQ. Fire pits or any form of open fire are not allowed
